Answer the following questions:

(i) The two main climatic factors responsible for soil formation are temperature and rainfall.

(ii) Two reasons for land degradation today are overgrazing and deforestation.

(iii) Land is considered an important resource because it provides space for human settlements, agriculture, industries, and other human activities.

(iv) Two steps taken by the government to conserve plants and animals are setting up national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, and banning hunting and poaching.

(v) Three ways to conserve water are:

  • Rainwater harvesting
  • Fixing leaky taps and pipes
  • Use of drip irrigation in agriculture

  • Match the followings:
