Educational tour from Sonari to Jorhat

Princy priya Dihingia,
Class 7B, 2018-2019

Today is 29th December 2018. We have decided to go to Jorhat as an Educational tour. At 6 A.M, every student was told to arrive at a place where they will be picked up. The places are Sonari(ASTC Bus stand), Suffrai and Avoipur.

So at 6:15 A.M, I reached Sonari Bus stand. There I met Chiranjit sir and a few students. Gayatri mam’s room is near the bus stand. So I went to mam’s room. The bus was too late to arrive and we have to wait there for a long time. After sometime when the bus arrived, we started our journey from Sonari. Then the students of Suffrai and Avoipur boarded the bus along with Ratul sir and Chetry sir. A few students also joined us from Mathurapur.

While going, we enjoyed a lot by singing songs, clicking photos, etc. During the journey on the bus, the boys were playing PUBG in their smartphones and the girls were clicking photos, listening to songs, etc.

We had our breakfast inside the bus with bread, butter, and jam. Ratul sir distribute it to us. Debopriya mam joined us at Simaluguri.
When we reached Jorhat, We first entered the Assam Agricultural University. We all clicked a group photo at the gate and then we entered inside. We saw many things and learned a lot about them. We have seen in the University how several things can be recycled and reused in a very productive way.

Inside the University, there is a farm. The farm is organized by planting trees all around. We have also learned how to make vermicompost is made and how it is used. We have also seen many animals like the white rabbit, high breed cows and buffaloes, chicken and Bota sorai.
After that, we went to the Science Museum. There we have seen various things like the Magnetic reaction of the poles, Electric circuit, the musical sound produced by the movement of the air, magical water tap, infinite well, etc.
Outside the Museum, there is a park. We all went to the park. But sadly we could not stay there for long as we were getting late. Although we were getting late, we clicked some photos and enjoyed the park. There was also a shop near the park and most of us ate ice cream, chips , etc.

After that, we were on the way to our last spot i.e. the Sukapha Khetrya. There, before entering inside, we have to take off our shoes. Also, we're not allowed to enter with our smartphones and camera. So we have to enter inside leaving our cameras and smartphones behind.
Inside it, we have found how the rich traditions of the tribes of Ahoms, Boro, Missing, Naga etc were preserved. There is also the pictures Ahoms marriage, a celebration of the child’s first birthday, Mughal-Ahom conflict, different rituals, traditional rules etc. Also, the models of weapons, traditional tools for farming were also displayed. At last, we had our lunch at a dhaba (Rice, dal, fish, vegetable sabji etc.).
While returning home, we enjoyed a lot singing and dancing. Our guide teachers also enjoyed with us. It was really a great tour and all of us will remember it for a long time.
