An educational tour to Jorhat

Taj Roshan Gogoi
Class 7A, 2018-2019

An educational tour to Jorhat was arranged by our teachers and the students. At first, we were unable to select a suitable place for our excursion. But after a lot of discussions, we have finally selected Jorhat and the date was fixed on 29th December 2018.

On the day, 29th of December 2018, we started our journey from Sonari(ASTC bus stand) at 7 A.M. We all arrived at the proper time. Our guide teachers are Gayatri miss, Ratul sir, Chiranjit sir, Debopriya miss and Chetry sir. We travelled by bus. At about 10:30 A.M we reached Jorhat town. While we were on the bus, we had our breakfast. We ate bread, butter etc. At that time we enjoyed a lot. We have taken a lot of selfies. At that time all the students, as well as the teachers, were singing and dancing.

First of all, we went to Assam Agricultural University. Its campus is very big. There we saw different types of Agricultural farms. A distinguished member of the University described us how the birds and animals were tamed. They gave them food timely. We have seen there some very beautiful ponds. We learnt a lot.

After Assam Agricultural University, we arrived at Jorhat Science Centre and Planetarium. There we have learnt various aspects of science and scientific experiments.

After that, we went to Sukapha Samanay Kshetra. There is a huge gate in front. There is a huge statue of Swagdeu Chaolung Sukaphaa. We purchased tickets to enter inside. There is also a big museum where the statues of a different tribe of North East people were present along with their customs. Different types of pots were also kept there.

The journey was very enjoyable. On the way to Sukaphaa Samanay Khetra, we ordered rice in a hotel and we took our lunch while returning. After taking lunch, we started our return journey. The trip was a memorable one. We enjoyed a lot. The teachers also enjoyed with us. We reached home at about 8:00 P.M.

Generally, an educational journey helps us in many ways. Sometimes we feel our studies boring. But such a tour helps us to resume our duties with full energy.
